A Camino is the perfect way to kick off your retirement!
Entering this new phase of life is like standing at a crossroads – where to next?
With newfound time on our hands, everything feels different. Do we settle for the mundane routines of retirement, or do we seize the opportunity to reignite our passions? Shall we tend to balcony gardens and catch the local news, or dare to explore the world, even reinvent ourselves?
The thought of jetting off to Europe for a trek along the Camino de Santiago might seem daunting. It’s a grand adventure, no doubt, and yes, it demands physical endurance. But is it achievable at our age?
I understand those doubts all too well. Even at 35, my first Camino journey posed a significant emotional challenge, and I was just a short plane ride away from the starting point.
Hello, I’m Nicoletta, originally from Germany and now residing in Porto, Portugal, along the Camino Portugues, one of the revered Ways of St. James.
I offer guidance to those contemplating their inaugural Camino adventure. I’m here to assist – digitally accompanying you every step of the way.
Let’s embark on your unforgettable Camino journey together, knowing you’ll be well taken care of every step of the way.

If you start in Porto, I can also give you an AirTag, so that I can see your location anytime – and/or meet you for dinner in Porto or walk the first kilometers of your camino at your side.
Not enough? I walk with you!
Having me at your side digitally doesn´t give you enough safety?
No problem – I can also walk with you. Only a few stages or a whole Camino, that´s totally up to you.
Concerned about your readiness for the Camino?
Of course, you’re not in your 20s anymore. But your age doesn’t define your capability!
Let me share stories that speak volumes about the resilience of Camino pilgrims. There was an 82-year-old woman who, despite her age, carried her backpack throughout her journey. She paced herself, covering around 10km (approximately 6 miles) per day and adjusting her plans as needed. Then there’s the inspiring tale of a pilgrim with only one leg who completed the entire Camino.
I’ve also walked alongside individuals facing chronic illnesses and battled depression. Their journeys were filled with uncertainties, but they found the strength to keep going.
Remember, you are not alone on this journey.
As your guide, I’m here to support you every step of the way. With my local expertise on the Camino Francese or the Camino Portugues, you can trust that you’ll be well taken care of, no matter the challenge.
